When it comes to decorating, I give myself a few criteria: keep it simple, keep it inexpensive, and keep it natural.
I really wanted to go to the local Christmas tree farm and buy real garland and wreaths for the front porch, but vision gave way to reality, and I reluctantly pulled out the fake stuff from the big, plastic bins in the garage.
But, I was determined to get that natural look. So, I decided to go on a little nature walk to see what I could find.
You just can’t go wrong with nature. It makes a blue, plastic watering can look like charming, cottage, Christmas decor.
Fresh pine boughs and boxwood cuttings bring life and fullness to an otherwise flimsy, fake wreath.
It’s no wonder that I am so comforted by nature. The outdoors is like a great big cozy blanket.
I’m so fortunate to have a cozy, front porch to sit out and enjoy the surrounding beauty; especially for the holidays.
See you in class,
