I‘m inspired by nature.
It calms me. Maybe it’s the tranquil blues and greens, or the singing of birds, or the surprise of seeing fireflies dart through the trees. So magical!
I find that bringing those natural elements indoors provides a soothing atmosphere in my home as well. I think that is why I’m so drawn to the preserved boxwood wreaths that grace the pages of home decor magazines.
So, when presented with an opportunity to make a wreath with Floracraft, I decided I would make my own boxwood wreath.
I didn’t have to go further than to a little nature preserve down the street to clip fresh-cut boxwood. Of course, I was paranoid that I’d stumble upon a snake, but my only misfortune was stepping in a small ant bed.
I carried in my bundle of boxwood and gathered my supplies: fabric, wire cutter, floral wire and Styrofoam wreath form. And I got to work.
I was so excited to learn that I could preserve my own boxwood. You can find the tutorial on wikihow. Now you can get that decorator look for much less!
See you in class,
