How was your weekend? Mine was very fun. I feel rejuvenated and read for the week ahead…
this being the first of the last three weeks of summer vacation.
There’s something about summer that gives me peace. All is right with the world. The days are long and filled with endless possibility. No schedules, no deadlines, no homework, no lunches to pack, no where in particular to be, except wherever I want to be.
Freedom at its best.
want plan to take full advantage of the few weeks that are left before our day’s agenda is determined by the ringing of school bells.
There are more day trips to the beach to be had. More days lounging poolside.
There are also closets to clean out, first day of school outfits to pick out, and school supplies to buy. But it will be time spent with my daughter.
A chance to be a part of her world, to bond and make memories. She’s going into 9th grade and will turn 15 next month.
We’re looking forward to a year of driver’s ed and a learner’s permit. This year feels like a transition into a different stage of life in the Hines household.
My mind can’t help but wander to the not so distant future, when we’ll be sending my girl off to college. She wants to be a physician’s assistant, her sights set on Texas A&M for the first four years….
But I’m getting ahead of myself.
For the next three weeks, I plan to do something out of the norm for my personality, and live in the moment; taking each day as it comes, and holding on to these last days before the sun sets on summer.
See you in class,
