How do you mark the beginning and end of a year? Ringing in the new year in January? With the start of a new school year? On your birthday?
My life has always been measured from August to August…both the beginning of a new school year and my birthday.
The only difference during the past two years is that I’m not returning to a classroom. Nevertheless, it is back to school on Monday. As sad as this free spirit is about summer ending, I’m looking forward to cool mornings and open windows. I can’t wait to take advantage of the Fall gardening season. And, I’m excited to grow my new editorial business.
I don’t know about you, but I can’t help but wax nostalgic during this transition from past to present, old to new, the known to the unknown, and not without a little anxiety to accompany it.
And in the midst of it all, I feel like a new me is emerging. You know how a butterfly has to work its way out of a chrysalis before he begins his new life as a butterfly? That’s me.
I have great expectations for what lies ahead…
In the meantime, I’m taking a little time to rejuvenate. So, my blog posts will continue to be scarce over the next week or so.
But be sure to come back tomorrow (Monday) for Laura’s Fall Burlap Wreath Tutorial. (You’re going to love how quick and simple it is to make!)
See you in class,
