black is the new black: a furniture makeover

Dad studied the Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs coloring sheet that I’d colored earlier that day.

“Look at how she colored in the lines,” Mom said.    ”And the colors she chose,” mom continued.

My parents were so proud.

Dad had one pointer though, ”The only thing that would have made it better is if you’d outlined everything in black.”

After that, my black crayon became my artist’s brush, putting the finishing touch on everything I colored.

The other day as I stood back and looked at my latest furniture makeover, I couldn’t help but be taken back to that moment in time.

I feel like my whole kitchen has been outlined in black.
