I love capers.
I eat them in my Greek Salad and love them in white wine sauce.
White wine sauce…it sounds so gourmet.
Cooking meals like tilapia scaloppine make me feel so grown up, sophisticated even. But it’s not a sophisticated recipe. In fact, this tilapia recipe is really simple to make.

- 3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1lb tilapia filets
- salt (to taste)
- pepper (to taste)
- 1/2 cup sliced mushrooms
- 2 tablespoons drained capers
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 1 whole lemon (juiced)
- 8oz linguine pasta, cooked according to package directions (I used Gluten Free noodles)
|heat olive oil in skillet over medium heat|
|stir in the garlic|
|place fish filets in the skillet and sprinkle with salt and pepper, cook for 90 seconds|
|turn fish, season with salt and pepper and cook another 90 seconds|
|add the mushrooms, capers and wine. cover and reduce heat. Simmer until the fish flakes easily with a fork and the wine is reduced by half. ( about 6 -7 minutes)|
|remove the cover and pour lemon juice over fish. cook for 1 minute.|
|optional: serve over pasta|
