If you’re like me, then you crave summer. I look forward to the lazy days, vacations, a break from the routine…it’s the one time of year I give myself permission to relax.
But, we shouldn’t wait until summer to give ourselves permission to stop and unwind a bit.
When you’re so tense that your shoulders are up to your ears, it’s time.
When your to-do list keeps you awake at night, it’s time.
When you start to tell yourself that you need not a one, but a two-hour massage, it’s time. It’s time for a break. Turn off your phone, turn down the lights, and turn on some relaxing music.
Then, soak in a warm lavender bath.
After your bath, wrap yourself up in a snuggly robe, or not.
Then, refresh your skin with a cleansing towlette.
We go through a lot of these at the Hines house. It feels so good to wipe away the cares of the day, and they make my face feel so cool and replenished.
Pamper your feet naturally with a pumice stone.
Mine came in a pedicure set from Dollar General.
Grab your nail polish remover, cotton balls, your favorite nail color, and give yourself a manicure.
I know we tend to feel the need to justify spending money on ourselves, but an at home spa day doesn’t have to be expensive. When I was preparing for my spa day, I did a little comparison shopping and found that Dollar General had a good selection of summer beauty products with better savings.
See you in class,
