It was just a plain, basic desk chair. Gray and drab.
It wasn’t quite what I had in mind, but it served a purpose. So, I kept it.
At some point, I decided to put a green pillow case over the chair back to make it look more colorful. When that didn’t work, I tossed some fabric over the chair for a while, intending to make a slipcover. But, I really prefer a more tailored look, so the slipcover never happened.
It’s been seven years now, and that once dreary, desk chair finally has a new look.
This desk chair makeover was inspired by the Gramercy Desk Chair from Ballard Designs.
And while I was at it, I decided to clear the clutter off of the desk.
This vintage sorter belonged to my grandmother.
I’m planning to add some file folders to that empty slot on top. But first, I have to sort through an overwhelming pile of papers.
Now it’s your turn.
I’d like you to find a surface in your home, or a drawer, a closet…and, clear it off.
Put everything in a laundry basket or box for now. Then, join me tomorrow to find out what to do with that clutter.
