inspired living

May 7, 2012 By Mrs. Hines

Welcome back to Mother’s Day Out! This is the second post in this series.

To see the first post, go here.

Today’s post is based on a blog that I stumbled upon recently: The Inspired Family Magazine. In the About Us section, I read this quote:

“I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.” Eric Liddle – Chariots of Fire

Mari, the founding contributor of this online magazine encouraged:  “Fill this in with your answers:  I believe God has given me the honor of being a mother/father, guardian…., but he also made me _______. And when I _______ I feel His pleasure.”
And this was her example.  “Mine would be: I believe God has given me the honor of being a mom, but he also made me creative and compassionate.  And when I create and serve those around me; whether it’s in on cyberspace, in my community or in my home I feel His pleasure.”
Her message resonated with me and so I contacted Mari to see if she’d be okay with me incorporating her article into my series.  She graciously agreed.
I hope you will take the time to visit Inspired by Family Magazine and read the full article.  I think you will really appreciate Mari’s message.

I contacted a few other bloggers to fill in the blanks with their answers, and this is what they had to share.

Susan @ Living Rich on Less–“I believe God had given me the honor of being a wife, mother and ministry leader, but he also made me funny and creative. And when I inspire, motivate and encourage others with my crazy life stories and home improvement projects, I feel His pleasure.”

Debbie @ Debbiedoo’s Blogging and Blabbing–“I believe God has given me the honor of being a mother…., but he also made me STRONG and confident  And when I look at my boys  I feel His pleasure.”

Karianne @ Thistlewood Farms-“I believe God has given me the honor of being a mother……but he also gave me the ability to rejoice in the beauty of the everyday.  And when I take a moment to pause and celebrate the ordinary loveliness of the world around me, I feel his pleasure.”

My goal today is to stir us all to think about ourselves through the lens of God’s eyes and to stir your passions and exhort you to pursue your dreams.  It is very important that we as mothers take time out for ourselves.

How would you fill in the blanks?  If you’d like to participate, just enter your answer by selecting the link provided by Linky Tools.
