You go down the aisles with the little gun, scanning everyday dishes, silverware, stemware, pots and pans, utensils, a toaster, and a blender.
Because that’s what people do. They register for blenders…and quesadilla makers and omelet flippers.
And then, someone actually buys you the blender off of your registry, and you thank them as you wonder, “what is aerate?”
You dabble with milkshakes from time to time, but other than that the blender sits in the cupboards, unused.
It moves with you from home to home. You can’t bear to part with it, just in case you need it.
Then, you decide to start getting healthy by beginning your day with breakfast.
And since you’ve always intended on being a hip and cool smoothie drinker, you start experimenting with the many flavors and ways to make a smoothie.
One day, you come up with THE banana smoothie recipe.
|Prep time||10 minutes|
|Meal type||Breakfast, Snack|
|Misc||Child Friendly, Serve Cold|
- 1 banana
- 6oz vanilla yogurt

Your daughter starts requesting it every morning. So you dutifully oblige, feeling proud of yourself for taking the time to make breakfast in the mornings.
And now the blender that has sat hidden away in the kitchen cabinet for 15 years, is always out on the counter top, ready for another smoothie.
Do you put your blender to good use?
See you in class,
