I’ve always wanted a “real” fireplace;
one with a smoking chimney and real wood and a crackling fire.
I love snuggling up on the hearth and feeling the warmth of the fire on my back.
I could sit like that all night, with a blanket in my lap.
But, instead, I will sit by the light of my electric fireplace, passed down from my parents.
More than 30 years and several homes later, it provides a different kind of warmth:
the kind filled with memories of cuddling up to this very mantel,
as it’s heater blowing warm air throughout the family room in my childhood home.
Tonight, this old electric mantel will come back to life for another Fall season, providing a familiar comfort as my family and I enjoy a relaxing evening by the “fire.”
Have a wonderful weekend.
See you class,
