I read Jen Hatmaker’s post “When Is It Time to Walk Away” months ago, and was reminded of it again as I stared at my computer screen earlier this week and thought to myself, “I just don’t want to do this.”
What I’ve learned is that when I’m tired, my motivation goes out the window. That’s why it is so important to get proper sleep (which I don’t) and also to allow time for rest.
That one is hard, hard for many of us, which is why Emily Freeman’s post, “Why Rest Takes Courage” resonated with me.
“Taking regular time off is not a punishment, or a dare or a rule. It’s a gift.” Emily Freeman
So, I took a day off yesterday. I did a little decorating, met my sisters and Mom for lunch (she loved the stools) and then, took a very long afternoon nap. I feel so much better for it.
As I was getting dressed for my lunch date yesterday, I tried this tip for getting the perfect side swept bangs. I’ve been wearing (trying to anyway) a side swept bang for years. So, I was delighted to stumble upon this tutorial. Too bad the rest of my hair didn’t cooperate, and I ended up wearing a ponytail…but my bangs looked good.
Sometimes we just want to look good, even teenage boys. Traci’s story of Priceless Moments with her oldest son tugged on this momma’s heartstrings.
Enjoy this week’s Recommended Reading.
See you in class,
