Our dinner guest last night loves pie. I so wanted to bake him a pie, but it wasn’t meant to be. Instead, I let Mrs. Smith do all of the work.
I have indeed made a few pies from scratch, but it’s been a few years. I definitely need more practice on the crust. And, I can’t ever remember what kind of apples to use.
So I pinned BH&G’s article on 10 Surprising Things to Do with Apples. Now, I don’t have any excuses…I’m going to have to bake a pie this Fall.
I can just picture a quaint scene of flour and rolling pins and this adorable Photo Frame Recipe Holder from In My Own Style. I especially love that it holds an old recipe handwritten by her mother. I’m a sucker for the sentimental.
Speaking of quaint scenes, I really loved getting a behind the scenes peek at how BH&G Styled a Colorful Ranch home for their magazine.
It makes me want to play stylist in my own home. And Carla Aston’s Before and After of a Tired Kitchen makes me want to play designer…actually it makes me want to hire Carla.
A kitchen renovation is one thing that I would not want to DIY.
Enjoy this week’s Recommended Reading!
