Because we live in a culture that has distorted the idea of beauty, I think we could stand a little reminding of what beauty, true beauty, is.
I’ve never heard it defined or described so eloquently as in Edie’s “A Life of Beauty” podcast. I highly encourage you to listen to it.
One of the many things that stood out to me in her podcast is the definition of beauty:
That quality that is present in a thing or person that gives intense pleasure or deep satisfaction to the mind.
My new series, 31 Days to Love the Home You’re With will focus on beauty in the home. I believe we all deserve a beautiful home; a home that nurtures and satisfies. And, I believe it is the foundation for all other areas of life.
As a teacher, I’ve witnessed the detriment of dysfunctional homes. As a homemaker, I’ve felt the stress of a chaotic home. But, I’ve also witnessed and experienced the joy and pleasure of a beautiful home.
The difference is remarkable.
I fear too many of us believe that a beautiful home is out of our reach. Friends, I’m here to tell you that is simply not true; that in fact, it’s yours for the taking. So, over the next 31 days I’m going to teach you how to achieve beauty in your homes.
