So, now that we’ve decided what to keep, it’s time to put it all back. But, first, let me share some clever storage ideas:
~Do sort like items together. Hair products, paper products, medicines, makeup, baking pans…
~Don’t buy any containers until you determine what type of containers you need.
Do that by taking inventory of the keep pile. Then ask yourself what type of containers will best serve your purposes. For example, you wouldn’t want to put all of your hair products in a shallow bin where they will fall over every time you remove or replace an item.
~Don’t overlook vertical space. If you do not have the floor space to spread out, then use vertical space. Take advantage of wall space, the space above doors, behind doors..
~Do clean your space before putting anything back. Take advantage of the empty cabinet, shelf, floor, etc. to dust, install liners or sweep.
~Don’t spend a lot of money on organizing products.
In this video, Alejandra shares cheap storage ideas using items she found at the Dollar Store.
And, I love using egg cartons for jewelry storage.
I’m currently using media towers in my daughter’s closet to store folded clothes. And, I have a bookshelf in my closet for the same purpose. (This is where repurposing the things you might have considered donating or throwing away comes in.)
Now that we know what supplies we need, we’re ready to put everything back. So come back tomorrow for inspiration and ideas for organizing room by room.
See you in class,
