Whether it’s the final seconds of a game, the days until vacation, or how many “sleeps” before opening the presents under the tree, countdowns bring about excitement, joy, and anticipation…
as you’ll see in this year’s Christmas Home Tour.
The reason that we don’t consider our decorating done until we find the perfect white ribbon,
that we fuss over creating a festive color palette,
find new ways to display wreaths,
and that we make this the year that we add extra ribbon to the tree is to recreate the fullness of the season in our homes.
The Living Room
Once we’ve fussed over the last decorating detail, we sip hot chocolate and cuddle under warm, fuzzy blankets to savor the season;
cherishing memories from Christmases past,
looking forward to creating new traditions in Christmas present,
The Dining Room
celebrating the days in between,
and commemorating each new day in a special way.
Like when I was a young girl and looked forward to laying under the Christmas tree, listening to Silent Night as I watched the ornament rise higher and higher up the string until there was no string left, bringing the song to an end.
Then, pulling the string again.
In my home, it’s a door on a musical advent calendar.
Every time we open a door, the calendar plays a Christmas song, making the countdown a celebration in and of itself.
The Front Porch
To make this year’s Countdown to Christmas even more special, Balsam Hill and 24 talented bloggers have been counting down together since day 1.
And if you are visiting from the extremely talented Maria at Rusty Hinge, welcome!
As an extra treat, Balsam Hill is giving $100 gift cards to 25 winners! The contest ends on December 25th, so be sure to enter now.
Then, visit Courtney at French Country Cottage tomorrow for the last day of the Countdown to Christmas tour.
Thank you for joining me on my Christmas Home Tour.
