Buying the five dollar bag of apple vase filler from Walmart was one of the smartest home décor purchases I’ve ever made.
That was several years ago. Since then, the apples have proven to be so versatile making them a year-round favorite in my home.
In fact, this past winter was the first time they were stored away in my prop closet. But as soon as the weather warmed up, they made an appearance again and will continue to do so throughout the year.
9 Ways to Display Apple Vase Filler
In the Spring and Summer, the apples add the perfect pop of fresh green color.
For a modern look you can line them up across your mantle.
In my home, they are most often nestled in this bowl.
But they can also be stacked in a clear vase, again giving off a more modern appearance.
or you can create a Farmhouse look by displaying them in a wire basket.
And speaking of baskets, placing them in a woven one with a handle makes it look like you just got back from apple picking.
When Fall arrives, tuck colorful leaves and pinecones into the apples for a Fall table centerpiece.
Or skip the leaves and opt for lining your bowl with a fall napkin.
For Christmas, replace pinecones and leaves with ornaments,
or just tuck the apples into the garland.
Tip: Be sure to buy realistic looking apples for a more authentic look.
I’ve had my apples for so long that I don’t remember what brand made them. However, if you don’t find any at Walmart, I’ve seen nice ones at Target. Hobby Lobby would also be a good place to look. And of course, Pottery Barn has them.
See you in class,
