I recently started a LIVE version of Show & Tell on our Facebook Page and decided I want to start Show & Tell on the blog, too.
What? You’re not are part of the Facebook community yet? You should be. You get Live coaching from me, inspiration from around the web, and live interaction with not only me, but your classmates. It’s not too late to turn in your homework so to speak…join here.
Show and Tell Saturday is a weekly round-up of my favorite resources for equipping you with the tools you need for creating your ideal home.
So, here it goes…
Show and Tell
Wunderlist Video Tutorial
I recently recorded a couple of tutorials on one of the apps I used most to get organized. If you’re an email subscriber, they should be available to watch in our class library.
Otherwise, you can watch them on my YouTube channel.
Emily A. Clark
I absolutely love Emily A. Clark. Not only is she a talented designer, but she reads. I feel such a kindred spirit with people who love to read. And I have a thing for musicians, but that’s another story.
Anyway, if you struggle to find time to read, I encourage you to read her post on how she makes time for reading.
The Pomodoro Method
I’d heard about it, but didn’t think it would work for my easily distracted and difficulty transitioning self. But, in a somewhat desperate measure to not only make my work time count, but not interfere with my cleaning schedule ( I work from home.) I decided to give it a try.
And it’s working for me!
Basically you work for 25″, break for 5″ for a cycle of four work sessions. After the fourth work session you take a longer break…something like 15 or 20 minutes. I schedule quick tasks into my breaks so that by the time I finish working, my chores are done, too. Gosh, I suddenly feel like Cinderella’s wicked step-mother.
Read more about the Pomodoro method here. And let me know if you use it or try it and how it works for you.
And, oh.my.goodness! I just discovered the online timer for the Pomodoro Method. It’s got the work time, short break and long break all scheduled in. I can’t wait to try it!
And if you didn’t catch today’s Show & Tell LIVE on Facebook, you can watch that here.
See you in class,
